West County uses WordPress as our primary content management system (CMS) for our websites. WordPress is an extremely flexible and powerful platform that is also easy to use for clients who don’t have any experience with editing websites. We have also built our own WordPress theme that has been designed for performance, reliability, functionality across all browsers. We strive to build our WordPress backend structure so that anybody can use it—you have as much control over your website as possible, without sacrificing the quality of the design.

When WordPress launched their Gutenberg Block Editor, we knew we had to take advantage of its great new features. By being ahead of the curve on the block editor means that we have custom-built our own blocks to enhance your editing experience. Whether you need to custom query custom post types or simply add a read more section, we have built blocks to extend Gutenberg to its fullest potential.

We don’t use page builders

Looking for a company to build your website? Make sure they aren’t just a page builder team. Whether it’s Divi, Elementor, Beaver Builder or others, page builders are notorious in WordPress and one of the biggest factors in bloat and security concerns. We explicitly do not use these page builders. In fact, we are often hired to convert people’s Elementor and Divi themes to custom build themes because they have never been able to meet the web core vital requirements or have had multiple security attacks on their sites.

If a company is using page builders, they may not even be programmers. If your intention is to partner with a company that can build anything you need, don’t hire a company that is selling page builder custom builds. It’s almost guaranteed these are not WordPress developers, they are WordPress users.
